The sole remaining Birch River grain elevator is a former UGG elevator. This elevator appears to be unused although it still bears the UGG logo.
The Birch River elevator is the most northern wooden grain elevator remaining in Manitoba.
The elevator stands alone by the former railway right-of-way. It used to be on the CN Erwood subdivision. The railway served Birch River until approximately 2000.
The elevator has a large annex attached. The Birch River grain elevator has a capacity of 5,600 tonnes of grain.
There is a small private elevator between Bowsman and Birch River, visible from the highway. No details are known about this elevator.
